World Cup: Fans angry on Pakistan for losing to Afghanistan

Afghanistan beat Pakistan by eight wickets in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Monday. Pakistani fans and past cricket players were upset with their team.

Afghanistan needed to score 283 runs to win, and Ibrahim Zadran (87), Rahmat Shah (77 not out), Rahmanullah Gurbaz (65), and captain Hashmatullah Shahidi (48 not out) all played great games that helped them reach their goal with six balls to spare.

Afghanistan shocked the defending champions England earlier in the event. Pakistan and Afghanistan have now each won two of their five group games and lost three.

Fans disagree on whether the team led by Babar Azam should be in the top four or not. Some say that the Men in Green can’t come back after this loss.

It was also Afghanistan’s first World Cup win over Pakistan. The score is now 7-1 in favor of Afghanistan.
