The ticket prices for the much awaited encounter between arch rivals India and Pakistan in the forthcoming T20 World Cup have almost doubled as the big event gets closer. Cricket fans are excited to see this match.
T20 World Cup 2024: Pak-India tickets ‘nearly increased’
On June 9, in New York, India and Pakistan will square off in the competition, which starts on June 1. But according to Daily Jang, tickets for the aforementioned game are now $2,500 instead than the $1,300 they were before.
The price hike is ascribed to higher demand as a sizable portion of the Pakistani and Indian diaspora living in the US and Canada tries to get tickets for the keenly anticipated match. Six times out of seven times, India has defeated Pakistan in T20 World Cup matches; these victories include a 2007 final and, most recently, a 2022 triumph in Melbourne.
Six venues in the West Indies and three in the United States will host the T20 World Cup from June 1 and 29. Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas will host the US vs. neighbours Canada to open the competition.
Notably, the top two teams from each of the four groups of five that comprise the 20 qualifying teams will advance to the Super 8 phase. Qualifying teams will then once more be split into two groups of four, with the top two teams moving on to the semi-final and the eventual winners playing in the final on June 29. England won the 2022 final and are the reigning champions.
