“Usman misrepresented to ECB about his decision to play for the UAE team and used the opportunities and development provided by the ECB to seek out other prospects, making it clear that he no longer wanted to play for ECB,” the board said. The right-handed batsman participated in the Green Shirts’ latest physical conditioning programme at Pakistan Army’s Kakul base. The PCB president said the 2025 Champions Trophy would be hosted in Pakistan as scheduled, but it’s too early to talk about the Indian cricket team’s participation.
On team management, Naqvi stated the foreign head coaches will be announced after April 15. The national team’s “busy” season includes series against Ireland, England, T20I World Cup, Bangladesh, England, Australia, and South Africa. “The availability of foreign coaches for the series against New Zealand depends on their contract with them,” Naqvi said. Pakistan holds a tri-party series before the Champions Trophy. He noted that the Champions Trophy and tri-party series will be played in Pakistan. Confirming that the national team’s five-match T20I home series against New Zealand squad will be announced on April 9. The Black Caps will play five T20I matches against the national team, three of which will be in Rawalpindi, starting on April 18.
