Pakistan street child football squad reach Norway Cup 2023 final
After losing the final of the Street Child World Cup last year in Doha, Pakistan is now just one step away from success and making a dream come true. In earlier today’s quarterfinals, Pakistan beat Sandviken 2-0 and moved on to the semifinals. Faisal scored both goals for the team that won. Pakistan won their pre-quarterfinal game against Trsyil FK 4-0 on Thursday, August 3, to move on to the next round.
The Pakistan team also met with the Pakistani ambassador to Norway, Saadia Altaf Qazi, on Tuesday, August 1. This time, she praised the team’s success in the tournament. Pakistan is playing in the Norway Cup under the name Muslim Hands FC. This is because Muslim Hands is a charity organization.
There are a total of 2,350 teams and about 30,000 players who are taking part in the event. Last year, the Street Child World Cup was held in Doha, and the Pakistan team came in second. They lost no games during the event, but Egypt beat them in the final on penalties (4-3). They also came in second in the last competition, which was held in Russia in 2018. In Brazil in 2014, they came in third.
