Earlier, the New Zealand cricket team had abruptly postponed the series this year. The New Zealand Cricket Board had called for the series at Neutral Avenue. PCB was holding on for the home series. It should be noted that on September 17, the New Zealand cricket team had announced to cancel the tour of Pakistan. The decision was made 2 hours before the match due to security concerns.
It may be recalled that the first match of the three-match ODI series between Pakistan and New Zealand. The match was scheduled to start at 2.30 pm today at the Rawalpindi Stadium. Pakistan was ready to host the New Zealand team on its soil after 18 years.
