Both teams started the game pressing quickly, but the Hong Kong team was able to keep up with Inter Miami’s shot attempts even though Inter Miami had more of the ball.
In the first half, the game was very close. The home team’s first free kick hit the crossbar, giving Mikael Severo a chance to impress David Beckham, who owns Inter.
The game was tied until Robert Taylor, a left winger for Inter Miami. Scored with an accurate shot past Yapp Hung-fai, Hong Kong’s goalkeeper. Before the first half was over, the home team scored again, this time through Henri Anier. It made the crowd at Hong Kong Stadium roar with joy.
During the second half, a new rule was added that let a lot of players be replaced. This gave Hong Kong coach Jorn Andersen a chance to make 10 changes, but left back Li Ngai-hoi stayed the same. But Inter Miami kept playing well and scored two goals from Lawson Sunderland and Leonardo Campana to double their lead.
Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, two players who used to play for Barcelona with Messi, came into the game in the 61st minute to cheers from the crowd. Even though Ryan Sailor scored another goal for Inter, the game ended in a 4-1 win. However, Messi and Suarez were booed the whole time because they stayed on the benches.
