COAS to host Green Shirt iftar in Pindi

On April 7, COAS General Asim Munir will host an iftar for the Pakistan cricket team in Rawalpindi while they practice at the fitness camp in Kakul. At the Army School of Physical Training in Abbottabad, the Men in Green are training. The fitness programme will end on April 7 with the players heading to Pindi for Iftar with the army chief during Ramadan, instead of April 8. After iftar, they’ll return home for Eid-ul-Fitr.

New Zealand will arrive in Pakistan on April 14 for the much-anticipated five-match T20I series. The two nations will play three T20Is in Rawalpindi on 18, 20, and 21 April at the Pindi Cricket Stadium. After that, both teams will travel to Lahore for the final two T20Is on 25 and 27 April. Each of the five T20I matches will begin at 7:00pm (PST). New Zealand will tour Pakistan under Michael Bracewell.

Indian Premier League obligations will keep Trent Boult, Devon Conway, Lockie Ferguson, Matt Henry, Daryl Mitchell, Glenn Phillips, Rachin Ravindra, Mitch Santner, and Kane Williamson out of the series. Tim Southee was rested, and Colin Munro was unavailable. Due to his contract with Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club, Will Young and Tom Latham, who is expecting his second child, were also unavailable for selection. Tim Robinson of Wellington and Will O’Rourke of Canterbury get their first T20I call-ups. Pakistan will declare its squad in a day or two.
