Superstar Cristiano Ronaldo of Portugal might be planning one more major move. He was not likely to leave Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr after playing soccer. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo quickly joined the Saudi Pro League after abruptly departing Manchester United in the previous year.
He had taken part in an explosive interview with Piers Morgan, during which he took aim at everything from the Red Devils’ owners to current manager Erik ten Hag. His contract was terminated by mutual consent when he made remarks that rendered his own position at Old Trafford unsustainable.
What will be Cristiano Ronaldo’s retirement plans?
A few weeks later, the soccer player inked a big contract with the Saudi team, but it doesn’t seem like he plans to complete his remarkable career at Al-Nassr. Ronaldo declared to the public shortly after arriving in the Middle East that he thought his time in Europe was “over” and that he was eager to conquer a new continent.
“I am lucky to have won everything I set out to win in European football,” he asserted. I believe that this is the ideal time to talk about my experiences in Asia.”
But Rudi Garcia, who took over as Al-Nassr’s manager four months after Ronaldo signed there. Insisted that the five-time Champions League winner will play for a European team once more.
Garcia told reporters in January of last year that Cristiano Ronaldo was a good signing because he spreads out defenses. He is among the world’s top players. He will return to Europe rather than complete his career at Al-Nassr.
Ronaldo hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down over that time in terms of scoring goals. With 54 goals in 59 Al-Nassr games, the Portugal captain actually finished 2023 as the leading goal scorer at the club level worldwide.
Ronaldo responded to people who thought his career was coming to an end on Instagram. “54 — I’ll say when it’s finished!” he wrote. Many thanks, guys.
Recently, a Premier League team has reportedly expressed interest in Ronaldo. Newcastle United is rumored to be considering making a bid to reintroduce the football legend to the top division of English football. The owners of the Magpies and Al-Nassr in the Public Investment Fund (PIF) are the same.
