Pakistan registered 64 cricketers—59 men and five women—for the 2024 Hundred Draft this month. Other Pakistani players not selected include Shadab Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Hasan Ali, and Mohammad Amir.

The franchises also passed on international stars Jason Roy, David Warner, Tim David, and Shakib Al Hasan. Shaheen, Green Shirts’ standout pacer, was signed again by Welse Fire for £100,000, the team he played for previous year.

Before the draft, Welsh Fire and Manchester Originals kept Pakistani bowlers Haris Rauf and Usama Mir. Trent Rockets signed retired all-rounder Imad Wasim for £100,000, while Birmingham Phoenix signed pacer Naseem Shah for £125,000. Wasim helped Islamabad United win the Pakistan Super League (PSL 9).

Northern Superchargers drafted Nicholas Pooran as their first West Indies player due to overwhelming demand. Andre Russell and Shimron Hetmyer will play for London Spirit, Kieron Pollard for Southern Brave, and Trent Rockets favourite Rovman Powell.

No Pakistani player was selected in the women’s draft, which featured Meg Lanning, Beth Mooney, Ashleigh Gardner, Lauren Cheatle, Jess Jonassen, and Sophie Molineux. Indian players Smriti Mandhana and Richa Ghosh were drafted. On July 23, The Hundred will return for its fourth season.
