Shahid Afridi addresses political unrest

Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi is upset about the political unrest, even though the 2024 national elections were run smoothly, and he has asked “decision-makers” to take real action.

Afridi said on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, “The average person is tired of hearing new stories every day because his real problems are unemployment and inflation.”

He asked “decision-makers” to get together and fix the “chaotic situation” in the country. The 46-year-old man called for everyone to work together and said that the country could not afford any more damage. He also asked everyone to save the future of the next generation.

Afridi’s comments came after the results of the election on February 8 caused protests across the country by many political groups. Because he was a famous cricket player, the former star player often got attention when he spoke out about politics.

In March 2022, he asked that the terms of at least one chosen government be finished. He said that while the opposition was planning to remove Imran Khan as prime minister. It’s been 74 years since Pakistan got its freedom. Afridi said, “For God’s sake, let at least one elected government finish its constitutional term.”

A lot of people didn’t like it when the former cricket player praised the president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on becoming prime minister after the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was removed from power.
