Pakistani cricket player Mohammad Amir thanked Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for stepping in to help his family after an incident at a recent Pakistan Super League (PSL) game. Amir had earlier said in public that the Deputy Commissioner of Multan was mistreating his family at the stadium. He said the official “kicked them out” without a good reason because he felt like he was entitled to do so.

Mohammad Amir, a former cricket player, wants Maryam Nawaz, the newly elected Chief Minister of Punjab, to do something about an incident of claimed bad behavior toward family members during the ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
In a tweet on Twitter, Muhammad Amir, a fast bowler for the Quetta Gladiators, said that the Deputy Commissioner of Multan was being rude to his family during the game. Amir said that the official acted cocky by claiming ownership of the ground and kicking them out during the event without a good reason. He called this kind of power abuse by a uniformed official unacceptable.
Amir tagged Maryam Nawaz on X and told her to pay attention to what was going on.
During a PSL game on February 26, this happened: the families of Mohammad Amir, Umar Amin, and Moin Khan were reportedly taken out of the players’ box by people from the district government. The players and management of the Quetta Gladiators strongly criticized what happened and asked the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to take action against such behavior.
This season, Amir, who plays for the Quetta Gladiators, stressed the importance of being responsible and treating players’ families with care during games. Before joining Quetta Gladiators, he played for Karachi Kings for eight years.
Following his tweet, Chief Minister Nawaz reportedly contacted Amir to address the situation. In a subsequent tweet, Amir expressed his appreciation, stating, “All misunderstanding has been cleared by the Deputy Commissioner Multan himself. I sincerely appreciate it and extend my best wishes to you as you embark on your new journey.”
