In Kings’ innings, Malik and his skipper Shan Masood started a recovery. The hitters added 52 runs for the third wicket. Masood was removed by Usama Mir in the ninth over. Malik and Nawaz scored 37 runs in a one-sided partnership after the captain’s dismissal.

Abbas struck back on the following delivery and dismissed Malik, who scored 53 off 35 deliveries with five boundaries and two sixes to lead the Kings. He reached 50 on Abbas Afridi’s first delivery in the 13th over with a cover drive, but the Sultans’ bowler removed him.
