The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) advertises for red- and white-ball national team head coaches on Saturday.

The PCB requires Level III Cricket Coaching Accreditation and five years of international and domestic coaching experience for both positions.

“We are seeking applications from dynamic individuals who will deliver integrated coaching support to our national team across different formats,” the board’s news statement stated. Applications are due by 5pm on April 15.

The move comes after Mickey Arthur, Grant Bradburn, and Andrew Puttick, who were transferred to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore in November 2023 due to portfolio changes, resigned in January.

The board has contacted former cricketers like Darren Sammy, Shane Watson, and Luke Ronchi to find a Green Shirts head coach. Sammy, Peshawar Zalmi’s PSL head coach, declined the PCB’s offer due to his contract with the West Indies board as ODI and T20I head coach.

Before that, Watson rebuffed the board’s offer when the media leaked its planned package. He also stated his willingness to fulfill his IPL commentary and San Francisco Unicorns head coaching duties. After the setback, the PCB asked Ronchi for the role. The ex-Kiwi cricketer wants time to consider coaching the Men in Green. PCB also considered Gary Kirsten of South Africa and Justice Langer of Australia.
