Shah Hussain Shah, a Pakistani judoka, beat his South African opponent on Wednesday in Birmingham to win the Bronze medal. Shah joined the bronze medal match after losing his first match in the 90 kg weight class. The Pakistani wrestler had never wrestled above 100 pounds before. South African Thomas-Laszlo Breytnbach was his medal opponent. Shah was able to finish his opponent with an ippon in just under three minutes, even though they had a rough start.

This is Shah’s second medal at the CWG, and it is the first medal for Pakistan in Birmingham. Since then, he won two silver medals at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, which were held in Glasgow. Hussain Shah’s son, who is 20 years old, has won two gold medals for Pakistan at the South Asian Games. His father won a bronze medal in boxing at the Olympics.
