The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced its 2023 Men’s Test and ODI teams on Tuesday without a Pakistani player. The ICC Team of the Year recognizes 11 top batsmen, bowlers, and all-rounders from 2023. Australian captain Pat Cummins took 42 wickets and led Australia to their first World Test Championship (WTC) 2021-23 title. After a year of red-ball success, Mitchell Starc joined Cummins. Australia had five players in the Team of the Year, making them the most represented nation. ICC’s ODI Team of the Year was dominated by Indian players, which was expected because the Blues played the greatest 50-over cricket despite losing the World Cup final to Australia. India’s skipper Rohit Sharma was selected captain after scoring 1255 runs in the year. Other Indians in the ODI Team of the Year were Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, Mohammad Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, and Mohammed Shami.

Rohit Sharma (C), Shubman Gill, Travis Head, Virat Kohli, Daryl Mitchell, Heinrich Klaasen (wk), Marco Jansen, Adam Zampa, Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami.
ICC also announced the Men’s T20I and Women’s ODI and T20I Team of the Year 2023.
