Multan Sultans beat Peshawar Zalmi by seven wickets thanks to their bowling and Yasir Khan’s half-century. A strong innings by Yasir up the order helped the Sultans chase a modest 147 with three wickets and nine balls to spare. The Sultans started the chase quickly as Yasir and Mohammad Rizwan scored 61 runs. Rizwan anchored through till Aamer Jamal bowled him in the eighth over.

Yasir was the main aggressor. Rizwan scored 15 off 21 deliveries and hit one boundary. Yasir then shared 23 runs with Usman Khan before returning to the dugout following his half-century. The Sultans’ best scorer scored 54 off 37 balls with seven boundaries and a six. Usman then led the Sultans’ pursuit and scored an undefeated 36 off 28 deliveries to secure a comfortable win.

He was helped by Iftikhar Ahmed’s 22-run cameo. His eight-ball had three boundaries and a six. Aamer Jamal, Salman Irshad, and Mehran Mumtaz each took a wicket for Peshawar Zalmi.Despite Babar Azam’s anchoring knock, Zalmi’s first-innings total was poor. Zalmi lost their in-form opener Saim Ayub (1) in the first over with four runs on the board. After the early loss, Mohammad Haris joined Babar in the middle and shared 46 runs for the second wicket before Mohammad Ali dismissed him in the sixth over.

After Usama Mir dismissed Haseebullah Khan (3) in the eighth over, Zalmi suffered another batting loss. Babar Azam held his ground until Chris Jordan cleaned him up with a well-crafted yorker in the 14th over. Peshawar Zalmi’s best scorer scored 46 from 42 deliveries with five boundaries. Tom Kohler-Cadmore (24) and Rovman Powell (12) contributed after his departure before Paul Walter and Luke Wood added late pyrotechnics.

Zalmi passed 140 runs when Walter (12) and Wood hit an unbroken 15 for the eighth wicket. With a quick 14-run cameo off seven deliveries with one boundary and a six, Wood was the stand’s main aggressor. Usama Mir, the PSL 9’s leading wicket-taker, and Chris Jordan led Multan Sultans’ bowling attack with two wickets each. David Wiley, Mohammad Ali, and Abbas Afridi each dismissed a batsman.
