According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 trophy has arrived in Pakistan for a three-day visit packed with memorable events and entertaining activities. One of cricket’s most coveted awards, the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 Trophy, arrived in Lahore on September 4 and is expected to leave on September 6, according to the PCB.
ICC World Cup 2023 trophy reached Pakistan
On June 27, the trophy’s journey began in India, the competition’s host nation. It has visited countries such as Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, the United States, the West Indies, Bangladesh, Kuwait, Bahrain, Italy, France, and England before arriving at Pakistan. Pakistan was set to host the World Cup trophy for five days.
From July 31 to August 4, the World Cup trophy was slated to be in Pakistan for five days. However, there was a delay since Pakistan’s participation in the competition was in doubt. The trophy is traveling quickly during this brief but significant visit, stopping at historical sites, cricket academies, and educational facilities to give fans of all backgrounds a chance to see the majesty of cricket up close, according to the cricket board.
Trophy Display
On September 6 at 10:00 am, the trophy would be on display for 40 minutes in the outdoor space of the National Cricket Academy. Also, it must be emphasised that from October 5 to November 19, 10 teams will compete for the coveted crown at 10 venues. So, it is with the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad hosting the tournament opener and the final.
The tournament will be played in the round-robin format with all teams playing against each other for a total of 45 league matches.
Thus, the top four teams will qualify for the semifinals, which will be held in Mumbai on November 15 and in Kolkata on November 16. Also, the semi-finals and the final will have reserve days.
