Jose Mourinho discussed his Cristiano Ronaldo management plan at Real Madrid in an open interview on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube programme FIVE.
Mourinho underlined his simple attitude, saying, “He doesn’t require motivation. You cannot offer him ambition or responsibility. Giving him is technically impossible. Just to make tactical modifications and make him happy.”

The Portuguese manager said coaching wasn’t about teaching Ronaldo anything but rather building a tactical framework where he could shine. Ronaldo played 164 appearances for Real Madrid under Mourinho, scoring 168 goals and 49 assists. He scored 450 goals and 131 assists in 438 games at Santiago Bernabeu during nine years.
