The superstar footballer Cristiano Ronaldo of the Saudi club Al Nassr, once again stunned football fans worldwide with an extraordinary act of sportsmanship when he asked the referee to “overturn” a penalty he had won. Ronaldo is revered for his unparalleled skill on the field.
As Al Nassr of Portugal attempted to score off a Sadio Mane cross in the second minute of their Asian Champions League (AFC) encounter against Persepolis of Iran, Ronaldo, a forward for Portugal, tripped and collapsed.

Referee Ma Ning of China immediately gave the Saudi club a penalty kick after Ronaldo went down, ruling it a foul. Nevertheless, Ronaldo wasted no time raising an objection to the referee’s whistle, pleading with him to reverse the penalty call.
After consulting the video assistant referee (VAR), the official decided not to award the penalty after reviewing the replay and finding no infraction. Other players have been honest with the referee and said there was no penalty, but the Portuguese star has never been involved in anything like this.
The game finished in a scoreless tie since neither team could score. Al Nassr had already qualified for the knockout stages before the match, which is an important point to note. With thirteen points after five games, the Saudi Pro League club is atop Group E, five points clear of Persepolis in second place.
