Arshad Nadeem, who won a gold medal in javelin throwing at the Commonwealth Games, hopes to make a good comeback at the World Athletics Championship after hurting his knee in 2021. Arshad is getting ready for the world event. It will take place in Hungary from August 25 to 27.

Nadeem told Geo News that he fully healed from the injury while training at the Punjab Stadium in Lahore. After the World Athletics Championship, Nadeem will participate in the Asian Games starting September 23 in Hangzhou, China. The national winner also wants to go to the 2024 Olympics in Paris. At the 34th National Games, Arshad hurt his knee, which needs to be mentioned here.

Akram Sahi, the head of the Athletics Federation of Pakistan, said that Nadeem had hurt his right knee. Last year, the javelin runner had surgery on his left knee. Sahi also said that WAPDA was to blame because they made Arshad attend the National Games, where he won a gold medal.

“I have completely recovered from the knee injury,” Arshad said. “Unfortunately, I missed the Asian championship due to injury. But, I have started full-fledged training now and looking forward to winning medals in the upcoming events,” he added.

“My target is next year’s Olympics. I want to get ready for the Olympics once again. The government has provided me with facilities, but they could be improved to match the international standard,” he highlighted.

“My Indian counterpart Neeraj Chopra gets much better facilities than me. That’s the difference between us,” he concluded.
