For Pakistan in international cricket in 2023, former captain Babar Azam and pacer Shaheen Afridi were still the best players, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said in a statement on Monday. The PCB said in a post on X that Babar was still Pakistan’s top run scorer and Afridi its top wicket taker. Babar quit as Pakistan’s cricket captain in November of last year, just a few days after their team was eliminated from the World Cup in the group stage. Babar had a terrible time in the 50-over Asia Cup and the World Cup.
