Uncapped seamer Matthew Foster is in the Test and ODI squads. In addition to Foster, Barry McCarthy, Theo van Woerkom, and Craig Young have been named in the Test squad and could debut.

“We’ve played a lot of cricket in this part of the world over the last decade, so the players should be familiar with the conditions—albeit mostly in white ball formats,” said Ireland men’s national selector Andrew White.

“Despite a 12-week hiatus, the players should bring confidence and momentum from the December Zimbabwe tour into this series.

The group enjoyed a good training camp in Spain last week and will go to the UAE five days before the series to acclimatise and train in Middle Eastern conditions.

“Our squad has changed drastically since these two teams last met in a three-format series in 2019. Consider the Test Match—only five of the 2019 starting XI are in this group, and while we have a younger age profile today, the 2019 team will likely be more seasoned and accustomed with multi-day cricket.”

Mark Adair, Ross Adair, Andrew Balbirnie, Curtis Campher, Gareth Delany, George Dockrell, Graham Hume, Josh Little, Barry McCarthy, Neil Rock, Paul Stirling (c), Harry Tector, Lorcan Tucker, Ben White, Craig Young.
