Pogba’s World Cup at threat with a thigh injury

Media sources in Italy said that Paul Pogba had injured his thigh, further doubting his ability to participate in the 2017 World Cup. Although he has been exercising with Juventus since returning from a summer knee injury, France star Pogba has yet to make his team’s lineup.

Italian media have reported that muscle tiredness might keep Pogba out of play for up to 10 days. Still, neither Juve nor Pogba’s agents have responded to AFP’s requests for confirmation of the injury. France’s Didier Deschamps will announce his World Cup roster on November 9 ahead of the opening game against Australia on November 22.

On Friday, coach Massimiliano Allegri of Juventus indicated that it was “extremely unlikely” that the 29-year-old midfielder will play before Serie A breaks up for the Qatar World Cup. On November 13, Juve will host Lazio for their final game of 2022.
