England takes a 1-0 lead in the PAK VS ENG best-of-seven series with this win. The national squad wore a unique jersey with the players’ names and uniform numbers flooded out to show sympathy for those impacted by the recent flooding in Pakistan.

England’s players wore black armbands commemorating Queen Elizabeth II, who died earlier this month. Alex Hales blasted seven fours and put up 55 for the fourth wicket with Harry Brook, who ended the innings not out after Jonny Bairstow’s injury forced him back into the team. Brook hit seven boundaries in a strong 25-ball performance. He is one of seven English players competing in the Pakistan Super League this season.

Ben Duckett (21 goals), Dawid Malan (20 goals), and Phil Salt (10 goals) also scored for England. Rizwan held for Pakistan once more throughout their innings. Rizwan, who had scored 281 runs to top all scorers in the Asia Cup earlier this month, smashed six boundaries and two sixes while batting alongside captain Babar Azam after England won the toss and opted to bat (31).

Despite Iftikhar Ahmed’s three sixes off 17 balls, Pakistan lost six wickets in the final ten overs and managed only 71 runs. Shan Masood, a rookie, only scored seven runs, while Haider Ali scored eleven. Luke Wood of New England completed with a score of 3-24, and veteran spinner Adil Rashid finished with a score of 2-27.
