Zimbabwe announces their home T20I series against India

The five-match Twenty20 International series will take place in Harare from July 6–14, according to a Tuesday announcement from Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Following the conclusion of the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, which will be held from June 1–29, will be the series.

The main goal of the series, according to a statement from Zimbabwe Cricket, is to strengthen bilateral connections and promote cooperation between the two cricketing bodies. “We are absolutely thrilled to be hosting India for a T20I series in July in what will be our biggest international attraction at home this year,” ZC Chairman Mr. Tavengwa Mukuhlani remarked, expressing his happiness.

“The game of cricket has always immensely benefited from India’s influence and dedication to the sport, and I would like to say a huge thank you to the BCCI for committing to tour Zimbabwe once again.”

“The BCCI has always played a pioneering role in contributing to the global cricketing community,” said BCCI Honorary Secretary Jay Shah. We are aware that Zimbabwe is going through a reconstruction phase, and right now, Zimbabwe Cricket needs our help.

Zimbabwe will play host to India in a bilateral Twenty20 International series for the fourth time; the series was played out in 2010, 2015, and 2016.

The two nations’ most recent Twenty20 International match took place in Melbourne, Australia in 2022 during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, where India prevailed by 71 runs.

Suryakumar Yadav, the two-time ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year, put on an incredible display that made the contest unforgettable. He scored an undefeated 61 runs off just 25 balls.
