According to FIFA, women referees will be present at a men’s World Cup finals for the first time. The quadrennial event will be hosted by Qatar this year. It has released the list of officials. Also, the 36 match officials include Stephanie Frappart of France, Salima Mukansanga of Rwanda, and Yoshimi Yamashita of Japan. Also, Neuza Back of Brazil, Karen Diaz Medina of Mexico, and Kathryn Nesbitt of the United States are among the 69 assistant referees.
Plus, in the early summer, all match officials for the finals will attend seminars in Asuncion, Madrid, and Doha.

“So, we are very happy that … we have been able to call up female match officials for the first time in the history of a FIFA World Cup.” said FIFA Referees Committee Chairman Pierluigi Collina.
“Therefore, this concludes a long process that began several years ago. With the deployment of female referees at FIFA men’s junior and senior tournaments.
