Former Pakistan captain Babar Azam set a record in Centurion during the Boxing Day Test against South Africa. The 30-year-old became the 12th Pakistani Test hitter to score 4000 runs. The 4000-run mark was reached when Babar, three runs away, hit a boundary on his first delivery. He has 4001 runs in 56 Tests.

Former captain Younis Khan scored 10,099 Test runs in 118 matches, a Pakistani record. In his distinguished career, Babar has achieved many milestones. He became the third cricketer to score 4000 runs in Tests, ODIs, and T20Is.

Indian cricket legends Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli also belong to this privileged club. Pakistan’s batting struggled on Day one of the first Test against South Africa, finishing 88/4. After being summoned to bat, they fell to 36/4 before lunch.
