The Pakistan Cricket Board has handed the key responsibilities with the champions’ cup mentors at various academies present in the country.
The five coaches, as nominated by the PCB, will develop players at high-performance centres in different cities.
According to a PCB source, Sarfaraz Ahmed would be attached with the Karachi academy, Shoaib Malik in Sialkot and Waqar Younis at the Lahore academy.
Saqlain Mushtaq has been sent to the Multan academy while Misbah-ul-Haq would head to the Faisalabad academy.
According to the source, these mentors were recruited on lucrative contracts ahead of the kick-off of Champions Cup.
The mentors will not only work during tournaments but remain engaged with the PCB throughout the year, contributing to various cricketing activities. It is with the conclusion of the domestic tournament that Panthers won the first title of Champions One-Day Cup, defeating Markhors by five wickets in the final match on Sunday at Iqbal Stadium Faisalabad.
