Virat Kohli becomes fastest batter

This is yet another feather in his cap, as the India batting maestro Virat Kohli became on Monday the fastest player to score 27,000 international runs during day four of the second Test against Bangladesh at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur.

He went past the 27,000-run mark which Sachin Tendulkar had scored in 623 innings. Kohli has played so far 594 innings in international cricket. The others over the 27,000-run mark are the former Australian captain Ricky Ponting and Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara.
