Usman Khawaja must follow ICC’s guidelines about making political remarks
The Australian player made his remarks a few hours after Cricket Australia released a statement requesting that he follow the guidelines set forth by the International Cricket Council (ICC) against making political remarks while playing cricket.
However, after being prohibited from donning the shoes at games going forward, Khawaja declared he will challenge the ICC’s mandate. While Khawaja was practicing with the team during their Tuesday training session, his sneakers were adorned with the messages. He added yesterday that he intended to wear the sneakers.
