U19 City Cricket Association Tournament Schedule Announced
There will be 93 teams from all over the country competing in the U19 City Cricket Association Tournament 2022-23. Thus it starts on May 21 and runs through June 4. So, it’s a 50-over tournament that gives young players a chance to play not only for the PCB U19 three-day and one-day tournaments but also for the first Pakistan Junior League, held in Lahore from October 1 to 15.
Event rules say that each City Cricket Association will be split into groups based on the number of cities in that association. Plus each Cricket Association will have a winner. Therefore, there are 13 City Cricket Associations in Balochistan. Central Punjab has 16, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has 19, Northern 11, Sindh has 17, and Southern Punjab has 14. Thus, Each of the three Lahore Zones will have two teams, so there will be 93 teams in the tournament.
Therefore, there are three groups of CCAs in Balochistan, Northern Punjab, and Southern Punjab. So, they each have a different set of rules. In a triangular series, the three table-toppers will compete against each other. The team with the most points will be the winner. Four groups will be made up of Central Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Sindh, which will be split up. The group leaders from each Cricket Association will play each other in a series of knockout rounds to find the best team in the world. During the tournament, live scores will be available on CricHQ. As time goes on, the squads of all 93 teams will be made public.
