Tottenham vs Rennes | Europa Conference League game rescheduling
COVID-19 has still got its influence on sports and related events. Recently, eight players and five members of staff were tested positive for Coronavirus. Therefore, on thursday, a meeting was arranged for Europa Conference League. A discussion was held for rescheduling the game. However, sadly none of the dates were found to be appropriate as an alternative date. Thus, it was declared not possible to re-arrange the tournament before UEFA’s December 31 deadline.
A UEFA statement read: “Unfortunately, despite all efforts, a solution that could work for both clubs could not be found.”
“As a consequence, the match can no longer be played and the matter will therefore, be referred to the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body for a decision to be taken in accordance with Annex J of the above-mentioned competition regulations.”
