On Thursday, the Pakistan Super League (PSL) revealed that top-ranked T20I bowler Akeal Hosein has joined the 10th edition player draft. On the league’s social media accounts, a video of West Indian spinner’s PSL wickets was posted.

Akeal, who has played 67 T20Is for West Indies, made two PSL appearances for Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators in 2023 and 2024. Only six bowlers in the elite competition have taken a hat-trick, including the 31-year-old. The Gladiators’ Akeal defeated Peshawar Zalmi in the previous edition.
In 13 PSL matches, he has taken 16 wickets at 25.37 and 7.96. Apart from PSL, Akeal has played in the Indian Premier League, Big Bash League, and The Hundred. Akeal is the third West Indian and 31st overall international player to register for the PSL 10 draft, which will be held in Gwadar for the first time on January 11, 2025.
Two-time winners Lahore Qalandars pick first in the platinum category’s first round, followed by archrivals Karachi Kings. Quetta Gladiators, 2019 champions, will pick third and Peshawar Zalmi fourth. Sultans, last season’s runners-up, and United, the champions, will pick fifth and sixth.
