Stunning throw by Arshad Nadeem sends him Paris Olympics final
Arshad Nadeem, Pakistan’s star javelin thrower, reached the Paris Olympics finals on Tuesday. Nadeem qualified for the medals with a tremendous throw over 84 metres. Nadeem’s first throw was 86.59 metres, securing his spot in the finals and demonstrating his exceptional potential. A minimum throw of 84 metres qualifies athletes for the medal round. Six of Pakistan’s seven athletes are out of their events. This 27-year-old is Pakistan’s last and best Olympic medal hope.
After finishing fifth in Tokyo, Nadeem has reached his second straight Olympic final. Thursday, August 8, at 11:25pm Pakistan Standard Time is the Javelin Throw final.

To qualify for the medal round, athletes had to throw 84 metres.
12 athletes advanced to the finals. If 12 participants failed to reach 84 metres, the best throwers qualified for the medal round. Six of Pakistan’s seven athletes are out of their events. This 27-year-old is Pakistan’s last and best Olympic medal hope. Remember, Nadeem earned a silver medal at the World Championship last year and a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games 2022, becoming the first Pakistani athlete to do it since 1962, with a 90.18m throw.
