Sri Lanka cancels Asia Cup 2022 amid crisis
Sri Lanka can’t host the Asia Cup 2022 cricket tournament because the country is always having political and economic problems. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) says that Sri Lanka can’t put on the tournament. The SLC told the ACC that it would not be able to host the Asia Cup cricket tournament in Sri Lanka because of the country’s current political and economic situation. Because of the ongoing trouble, the SLC just put off the third season of the Lanka Premier League (LPL).
The Asia Cup will be held in August and September, before the T20 World Cup. The United Arab Emirates have not yet been chosen as the place where the event will take place. On the other hand, the place could be anywhere in Asia, even India. Reports say that the Sri Lanka Cricket Board will ask the UAE Cricket Board for help in finding a place for the event.
