UltraEdge spiked as the ball passed the bat and hit the pads. However, third umpire Michael Gough appeared rushed and ruled Masood out, angering the skipper. Masood argued with the on-field umpires before leaving.
He later saw the replay of his ejection in the dressing room and told his teammates where the technology went wrong.
Bangladesh won the toss and bowled first, destroying the hosts’ batting line on a beneficial pitch. Vice-captain Shakeel was undefeated on 57* (92) while wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan made 24* (31).
Today, Shan Masood chose an all-pace assault in the first Test in Rawalpindi with Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, Khurram Shehzad, and Mohammad Ali bowling.
