Security has been beefed up for Pakistani players participating in the Lincoln Premier League after a Sri Lankan national was burnt alive in Sialkot. According to Sri Lankan media reports, it has been decided to increase the security of Pakistani players and coaches after the incident of burning alive a Lincoln citizen in Sialkot.

Nine Pakistani players are participating in the Lincoln League while the regular start of the event is from today. Among the players participating in the LPL are Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammad Amir, Shoaib Malik, Wahab Riaz, Sohaib Maqsood, Anwar Ali, Mohammad Irfan, Usman Shinwari, and Ahmed Shehzad. It should be noted that the opening match of the Premier League is being played between the teams of Gal Gladiators and Jaffna Kings.
