Recently, debates were being followed after Kamran Akmal was appointed for PSL 7 by PCB. Lately, Kamran Akmal was selected for the PSL 7 but in a silver category. He was so disappointed for being chosen in such a low category. He expected a much higher category for himself. Thus, he withdrew from the tournament as a protest against such selection. He stated that money was never the issue. But it is better not to be chosen rather than being chosen in such a low category.
“I have always performed, which is why the franchise chose me; I am not the type of player who would do an ‘in out’ like others, with all the runs I have scored in the league, money is not the issue, but I deserve better than being selected in [such a ] low category,” Akmal said.
However, now he has withdrawn his decision of not playing in PSL 7 and has agreed to appear in one of the mega events of Pakistan cricket. “Peshawar Zalmi is my family,” Akmal said.
In a conversation on his YouTube channel “Catch and bat with Kamran Akmal”, the cricketer had said: “Perhaps the team has no use for me anymore and the PSL would do better to give a chance to younger players rather than pick me in the Silver category”
