The highly anticipated Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10th edition players draft will likely take place in Gwadar, Balochistan. PSL CEO Salman Naseer posted a photo of Gwadar beach with a thinking face emoji on social media, sparking conjecture.
Sources say Gwadar may host the upcoming players draft as part of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) intentions to expand the flagship league beyond Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Multan. The players draft venue will likely be announced in 24 hours. Remember, the PSL 10 overseas player registration window is open.
The cricket board also renewed the categories of 87 local players for the upcoming marquee league, promoting Karachi Kings’ Hasan Ali, Quetta Gladiators’ Mohammad Amir, Peshawar Zalmi’s Saim Ayub, and Multan Sultans’ Usama Mir to platinum.
Imad Wasim, Shadab Khan Naseem Shah (Islamabad United), Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Shaheen Shah Afridi (Lahore Qalandars), Iftikhar Ahmed, Mohammad Rizwan (Multan Sultans), and Babar Azam (Peshawar Zalmi) are also remaining in the premium category.
Former Gladiators captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, seasoned all-rounder Shoaib Malik, and Test captain Shan Masood are among 16 Diamond players. On January 11, 2025, PSL 10 players will be drafted.
