Pakistan’s World Cup Elimination faced the wrath of supporters, who have expressed their outrage and sadness over the team’s poor performance in the World Cup 2023, which led to its ouster from the mega-event today (Saturday).
Pakistan’s World Cup Elimination make fans disappointed
In their last group match against England, the Green Shirts needed to bowl out the defending champions and chase the target down in 3.4 overs. However, once Jos Buttler’s side exceeded the 150-run barrier, Pakistan was effectively eliminated from the mega-event because they were required to outperform New Zealand in net run rate (NRR).
With a relatively disappointing NRR of 0.036, the Babar Azam-led side has won only four of their eight matches, including defeats to arch-rivals India and Afghanistan.
With the Men in Green crashing out of yet another World Cup, cricket supporters flocked to social media to express their displeasure with the team’s dismal performance in all three departments, which ultimately culminated in the team being eliminated from the competition.
“Who is responsible for Pakistan’s World Cup elimination?” Farid Khan stated this while emphasizing the importance of accountability for the team’s poor performance.
Meanwhile, Saad blamed the team’s short-lived World Cup trip on the entire group, particularly key players such as skipper Babar and main pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi.
