Pak vs WI | Babar Azam is excited for post-COVID-19 cricket
Pakistan’s captain, Babar Azam, told reporters on Wednesday that the team is looking forward to the post-COVID-19 series against the West Indies. It will begin on June 8 in Multan.
At a press conference, Babar said, “It feels fantastic to meet and communicate with the media in this way [physically].” They have been conducting virtual news conferences and media interviews in response to the COVID-19 outbreak.
The Pakistan captain claimed that bad weather shouldn’t be an excuse. This is because the series between Pakistan and WI was scheduled at an unprecedented period. In order to play in such conditions, the national team is fully prepared, according to him. He noted that the weather might be sweltering, but the crew is well-prepared. Further, Babar stated that Pakistan’s participation in this competition is critical for the country’s overall standing on the points table. According to the Pakistani cricket team’s captain, though, no team can be taken for granted.
“We are aware of the bunch strength but we also have to consider our combination,” he said.
“I believe that I have to give a chance to players frequently to build the team,” the cricketer added.
“I dream to be no 1 in all the three formats but for that hard work is needed,” he said, adding that he is working hard to achieve this target.
