According to a PCB spokesperson, the New Zealand Cricket Board has announced the postponement of the Pak VS NZ ODI Series and T20 series following a unilateral decision, citing security concerns. Pakistan was ready to host the New Zealand team on its soil after 18 years.

New Zealand Cricket Board Cancels Tour of Pakistan & Pak VS NZ ODI Series Due to Security Reasons

Prime Minister Imran Khan telephoned New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and informed her about the postponement of the cricket series by New Zealand and said that the Pakistan Cricket Board and the Government of Pakistan had made foolproof arrangements for the security of the visiting team. We had given the same assurance to the News Cricket Board.

Imran Khan said that our security intelligence is one of the best agencies globally, and there is no security threat to the visiting team.

New Zealand team officials had expressed satisfaction over the security of the Pakistani government. The first match between Pakistan and New Zealand of the three-match ODI series was scheduled to start at 2.30 pm on 17th September 2021.
