Pakistan’s all-rounder Shadab Khan and bowler Naseem Shah have been sidelined for the first five matches of their seven-match home T20 series against England, much to the dismay of cricket fans everywhere. While Shadab was granted the day off, Naseem started the game in Karachi against the opposition. Karachi’s National Stadium hosted the first four games of the series. The series is now tied at 2 wins apiece after both teams’ victories on Sunday, September 25. Shadab and Naseem will supposedly resume play in the second leg, which will begin on September 28. The rest of the series will include both players in the starting lineup. On September 30 and October 2, the sixth and seventh games will be played. Tickets for all three second-leg games were snapped up well before kickoff. The Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore is nearing completion of its preparations to host the remaining games.
The main and practice wickets have been painted and are ready for use, and cleaning is currently in progress. There are two fields ready for the three T20Is. Teams from Pakistan and England flew in on Monday and will begin practising tonight at 7 p.m. local time (GMT +4) in Lahore (Tuesday).
