Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) lost by 62 runs to Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) at the KCCA Stadium on Thursday in the third round of the President’s Trophy Grade-I. Right-arm spinner Mushtaq Ahmed took five wickets.
WAPDA chased a 321-run target from 9/2 on the last day but scored 258 all out despite Ayaz Tasawar’s half-century.Middle-order batter fought WAPDA alone with an unbeaten 126 off 162 deliveries, including 15 fours and four sixes.
Bismillah Khan’s 64-ball 42 was the only other major contribution.
Ayaz and Bismillah’s hundred-run sixth-wicket partnership kept WAPDA in danger until Mushtaq removed Bismillah.
A 62-run loss followed his ejection.
Mushtaq Ahmed grabbed five wickets for 96 runs in 20 overs; Arif Yaqoob collected three.
Pakistan Television (PTV) and Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) drew their SBP Stadium third-round encounter.
PTV led 456/3, 312 runs on the last day after Mohammad Taha’s maiden double century.
The opening batter led PTV with 226 from 321 deliveries, including 17 fours and nine sixes. Opening partner Waqar Hussain scored 154 from 255 balls with 11 fours and three sixes.
Mohammad Qaiser, Rohan Qadri, and Naseerullah Khan each took one wicket in the second innings for KRL.
Ghani Glass defeated Higher Education Commission (HEC) by 10 wickets on Tuesday and State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) defeated reigning champions Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) by seven wickets on Wednesday in the President’s Trophy Grade-I third round.
