The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) revealed on Tuesday that Batting consultant Mohammad Yousuf has changed his mind about withdrawing from the national team’s forthcoming white-ball tour of New Zealand.
The cricket board earlier today revealed that the former batter chose not to travel with the green shirts on the New Zealand tour because of his daughter’s illness. However, the PCB told me just hours after the update that the batting consultant is now all ready to tour New Zealand as her daughter’s health recovered.
“I’m going with the team since doctors informed me that the health of my daughter is better now,” said Mohammad Yousuf.
“Going with the team is a national duty that I have decided to fulfil,” he said.
For the uninitiated, the national men’s team is scheduled to leave Wednesday morning for the white-ball trip for New Zealand. Five T20 Internationals (T20Is) plus three One Day Internationals (ODIs) planned to take place from March 16 to April 5 make up the tour.
Especially, April 2024 was Pakistan’s last T20I series versus New Zealand. Rain caused the Rawalpindi series opener to be washed out; the five-match series concluded in a 2-2 draw with both teams winning two games apiece.
