On Monday Night Raw, WWE announced Pat McAfee and Cole as their new commentary team for WrestleMania 40. McAfee returns to Raw in Tampa, Florida on Monday after guest commentating at Royal Rumble. He showed his ring skills in the 30-man over-the-top-rope melee.

The 36-year-old former NFL player met Cole at the ringside table, Daily Mail reported. Cole and McAfee will be Monday Night Raw’s new commentary team, hoping to bring back their SmackDown chemistry. McAfee is adding to his already hectic schedule with his new ringside position.

WWE’s Friday night Smackdown color commentator McAfee left to focus on his new work at ESPN, where “The Pat McAfee Show” became “The Worldwide Leader” and he joined College GameDay’s desk. The “Pat McAfee Show” airs weekly, and GameDay visits a new college football stadium every Saturday.

Adding weekly travel to McAfee’s workload is surprising. WWE’s latest move follows a 2025 Netflix rights agreement made less than a week earlier. Whether McAfee will continue in this role during the college football season is unknown, but he has committed to staying on College GameDay in 2024.
