Kevin Pietersen backs Virat Kohli after Babar Azam
On Saturday, England legend Kevin Pietersen came out in support of former Indian captain Virat Kohli, who was dropped for the next series after a bad performance. The former captain of the Indian team posted a picture on Instagram with a quote that was meant to inspire people. In a later post, Pietersen reminded Kohli that the world is more than just cricket. Since 2019, Kohli hasn’t hit a century, and the cricket-crazy country he represents is talking a lot about his future. Kohli’s spot on the T20 team has been questioned, especially with the World Cup coming up in Australia.
The Indian cricket team decided not to bring him with them to the West Indies on their upcoming tour. There was no word from the national team about whether the batter at the top of the order had been officially benched or was just being rested because of concerns about getting hurt before the T20 World Cup.
“You go big guy! People can only dream about what you’ve done in cricket. And they’re some of the best players that have played the game,” Pietersen said on Instagram, responding to Kohli’s post.
In his post on Instagram, Kohli said: “Perspective.” He was referring to the quote behind him that read: “What If I fall? Oh, but my darling, what if you fly.”
“Buddy, your career has had some of the best that have played the game only wish they could have done what you have(so far). Be proud, walk tall & enjoy life. You’ll be back,” he said.
