Indian Jasprit Bumrah is admirable. The ICC named him Men’s Cricketer of the Year 2024 on Tuesday. He was selected Test Cricketer of the Year the day before.
A great year for Bumrah. He had the most Test wickets ever with 71. He led India to the Twenty20 World Cup title in Barbados last June. Bumrah thanked her supporters when she accepted the award. Achieving dreams requires perseverance and determination.
He won the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy by defeating Joe Root, Harry Brook, and Travis Head. Along with Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar, Bumrah is the fifth Indian to win this honor. Bumrah has 443 wickets in 204 appearances since his 2016 debut.
The record-breaking New Zealand woman Amelia Kerr. Women’s Twenty20 cricket’s Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy nominee and winner. Kerr led the White Ferns to their first Women’s Twenty20 World Cup win last October. Young Kerr is generating a stir. Annabel Sutherland and Laura Wolvaardt, great opponents, lost to her. Bumrah and Kerr showed that talent and dedication pay off.
