India’s Arshdeep Singh | Former Pakistan captain comes in support
Former Pakistani captain Mohammad Hafeez defended Arshdeep Singh online after the young Indian pacer had been ridiculed for a misplay during a crucial Asia Cup match between Pakistan and India. The young pacer dropped an easy catch of batsman Asif Ali in the 18th over, which turned the tide back in Pakistan’s favour.
When Ali was given the opportunity to bat, it was a huge relief for Pakistan, and they went on to win by five wickets, making up for their earlier loss in the same tournament. The young pacer has also received support from former Indian captain Virat Kohli, who asserts that errors are inevitable in a match with such high stakes.
“My request to all Indian team fans: In sports, we make mistakes as we are human,” the former all-rounder said on Twitter, bucking up the Indian pacer.
“Please don’t humiliate anyone on these mistakes,” Hafeez said, as he tagged Singh in the tweet.
