India vs Sri Lanka: Sri Lanka Beat India By 6 Wickets
At the Dubai International Stadium on Tuesday, Sri Lanka beat India in a Super 4 match by 6 wickets. Sri Lanka won thanks to a 64-run partnership for the fifth wicket between Bhanuka Rajapaksa (25 not out) and Dasun Shanaka (33 not out). Kusal Mendis scored 57 runs, making him Sri Lanka’s top batsman. With his 52-run knock, Pathum Nissanka was also instrumental to the team’s success.
With bowling figures of 3 for 34, Yuzvendra Chahal stood out as India’s most effective bowler. Earlier, India had posted 173 for 8, with 72 runs scored by Rohit Sharma off 41 deliveries. After losing their captain, India failed to capitalise on the solid foundation that Rohit Sharma’s blistering fifty had set up. Sri Lanka took wickets at regular intervals. Three wickets were taken by Dilshan Madushanka, two by Chamika Karunaratne, and one by Dasun Shanaka. After winning the toss, Sri Lanka’s captain Shanaka decided to bowl first.
